CINEC Alumni Network is an independent organization whose purpose is to support students after graduation. The Alumni Network is committed to providing a platform for connection with alumni globally.

CINEC NETWORK

In order to strengthen the connection between overseas alumni and their high schools, CINEC Education Group officially established the CINEC Network, our BC High School Alumni Association. The purpose of this platform is to provide a place for CINEC BC High School graduates and grade 12 students who will graduate soon to communicate, support and share. On this platform, people can seek and get assistance. Alumni can also help each other, so that they can give back to their Alma mater and society and support more people.

The Alumni Network provides different alumni programs including contact database, mentorship program, and seminars in both online and offline forms for the welfare of graduates.The Alumni Network leverages talents, resources and personal initiative to organize events and support the network. The Alumni Network encourages alumni to stay connected and engaged.

Organizational Structure

In order to manage the alumni association better and provide convenience for alumni to communicate and share, CINEC established the structure of the alumni association as follows: 

1. The executive committee will be established, with two Co Presidents, and four departments including the Marketing Department, Alumni Affairs Department, Operations Department, and Finance Department. 

2. The executive committee will also have regional branches, such as East, West, the United States, Europe, Australia and other branches.

Marketing

Responsible for creating promotional content, increasing the influence of the alumni network; create posters, WeChat ”tweets” for each event created by Operation, etc.

Finance

Responsible for budget control, finding sponsors etc. 

Operation

Responsible for creating workshops, info sessions and networking events to benefit the network 

Alumni Affairs

Responsible for inviting, communicating and dealing with alumni, attracting more people to join; creating invitation letters, serving as “staff” in the WeChat group to answer questions, etc.

Co-President

Stark graduated from Jiaxing Senior High School’s BCOS program in 2015 and he holds a BS from Cornell University, where he majored in electrical and computer engineering. He is currently working as a product marketing specialist at Cognex Corporation. He is from Hangzhou, China.

Ivan Hu

Co-President

Ivan Hu graduated from Canadian Secondary Wenzhou No.22 School (CSW) in 2015. He is currently studying for a master’s degree in Education at Hongkong University after completing his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Victoria. Ivan has a strong connection with the value of CINEC, which is “education creates an extraordinary future.” He believes that education is the foundation of a nation and people. He understands that CINEC will provide rich educational resources to society, and wishes to promote educational development through CINEC NETWORK Commitment.

Alan Lu

Co-President & Director of Marketing

Alan was a former graduate from Shanghai Nanyang Model High School’s BC program in 2017. This March, he will be graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle with a double major in Political Science and Journalism, along with a minor in International Studies. As an active participant in student organizations, Alan has obtained many connections since his high school days. Now serving as both the Co-President and the Director of Marketing, he wishes to create a platform that fosters exchanges and opportunities for both current students and graduates in the past.

George Li graduated from Luwan BC in 2018 and he is currently pursuing Honors Business Administration at Ivey Business School, Western University. He has led several clubs at Western and actively participated in extracurricular events.

Lavender Wang

Lavender Wang

Director of Operation

Lavender Wang graduated from Jiaxing Senior High BC Offshore Program in 2016. She is currently enrolled in her last year at Concordia University John Molson School of Business, with a major in Accountancy. In September 2021, Lavender is planning to attend graduate school in the UK.

Lavender has many past experiences in organizing various events. During her high school life, she organized the graduation ceremony with classmates as well as the Halloween party. At Concordia University, as the VP Events in Concordia Business Gateway Association, Lavender had the opportunity to hold cocktails and forums, which aimed to provide a platform for students to connect with the start-ups in Montreal.

Willian Garcia moved to China in 2008. He graduated from the Jiaxing BCOS program in 2019 and is currently a second-year student at UBC’s Sauder School of Business. As a member of the CINEC Network Executive Committee, he is enthusiastic about promoting the communication of experiences and resources among CINEC alumnus.

Caroline Yang

Director of Finance

Caroline Yang graduated in June 2019 from Shanghai Nanyang Model Private High School’s BC program and she is now a second-year Business Economics student at UC Irvine. She aims to give back to the community, so she joined the CINEC network. Her positive work experience as an accountant for the graduation board has shown her the importance of having a reliable financial sector to support a program to function properly. Thus, she hopes to use her knowledge and experience to assist the network and further support all CINEC graduates.

Charles Young

Executive of Operation and Alumni Affairs

Charles Young graduated from Shanghai Nanyang Model Private High School’s BC Program in 2016. He’s currently an undergraduate student at McGill University, majoring in Psychology, minoring in Behavioural Science and Social Studies of Medicine. He is the President of the McGill Chinese Psychology Student Association (CPSA), Minister of the Student Life Department at the Canadian Federation of Chinese Students. He looks forward to developing his career in the field of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology. Currently he’s preparing for his application to medical school.

As a member of the CINEC Executive Committee, he will be the Executive for both the Operation and Alumni Affairs department. He looks forward to assisting in hosting events and workshops that will help better connect CINEC alumni and improve their personal development. He will also be responsible for the continuous expansion of the CINEC Network.

Resa Wang

Resa Wang graduated from Jiaxing Senior High School’s BCOS Program in 2016. She earned a Bachelor of Science in clothing, textiles and material culture from the University of Alberta in 2020. This October, she is going to the UK for her graduate studies in Warwick University.

As a member of the CINEC Executive Committee, she will assist other team members to hold different events to help CINEC alumni. She also looks forward to helping CINEC alumni by sharing her own study and work experience in Canada with others.

Aileen Lu

Aileen Lu

Consultant

Aileen Lu graduated in June 2011 from Shanghai Nanyang Model Private High School’s BC program and completed her undergraduate in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. She is now undergoing her studies to achieve her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley. Aileen has passed CFA level III, gained valuable internship experiences at finance firms in both US and China. She co-founded Domi Coding in her spare time and is currently working at Apple for a position in Business Management.
