I was excited to become a mentee and join the mentorship program. I had a wonderful experience through talking with my mentor Yiwen and learning from her in the entire program.

Since we were in the different countries (China and Canada), we communicated with each other by video conference during the 3 months. I still clearly remember that Yiwen and I were a liitle embarrassed at the first Zoom meeting. 

However, later we become good friends and we keep in touch through this project. In the first meeting, we decided what we want to do in future meeting, which is talking as friends. 

In the one-hour meeting, we will share what happened in our study, work and life weekly. We created an English-speaking environment together, and Yiwen taught me many ways to release my anxious. For example, she shared with me her methods that she regularly uses to relieve stress: stretching and meditation. So slowly I began to develop the meditation habit to relax myself.

In retrospect, the three-months mentorship program does not only make me a good friend and improved my communication skills, but also made me learn from excellent people how to relieve anxiety and become a stronger person in heart.
